 Britney Spears Was Inspiration For Gwyneth Paltrow For ‘Country Strong’

Something tells me Britney Spears will take this story about as well as Lindsay Lohan took Gwyneth Paltrow’s mocking of her on ‘Glee.’ Anyway, according to Fox News’ Pop Tarts, Gwyneth’s character was partly inspired by Britney’s very public problems for Gwyneth’s character’s comeback in her new movie, ‘Country Strong.’

“You see a lot of these themes in real life, while I was writing the script a lot of those things that were happening with Britney Spears were very public,” writer/director Shana Feste revealed to FOX411’s Pop Tarts. “She was shaving her head, and I saw how fixated we are as a society in building people up to see their downfall and then the pleasure we take in building them up again.

Gwyneth herself said that she turned to her friend, singer Beyonce, for advice about performing.

“I picked the brains of my girl singer friends more.  I obsessively watched Beyonce perform, she is ‘it’ in terms of a performer – if I could just get a little bit of that abandon she has on stage, that’s what I was really focusing on,” Paltrow explained.

And actually, Gwyneth’s public persona is so different from Britney’s that the film studio president initially balked at the thought of Gwyneth taking the part!

“He thought everyone was so crazy because I was so wrong,” she said. ‘When you think ‘country superstar drink addict’ maybe you don’t think of me, but it’s in there… I haven’t been macrobiotic for a long time now, drinking country singer is much closer to the real me!”

OK, Gwyneth. Something tells me there’s a BIG difference between eating a macrobiotic diet and alcoholism- LOL.

Contrary to the allegations of former Betty Ford staffer Dawn Holland, Lindsay Lohan says she was stone cold sober the night of their fight in rehab.

According to Lohan's camp, she met a friend at the Viceroy Hotel in Palm Springs, Calif., on December 11 to get her hair done. That's her excuse.

While there, sources say Lindsay Lohan knocked back Shirley Temples - the famous non-alcoholic mixed drink - along with an order of fries. That's it.

Sources claim Lindsay eventually headed back to her sober house, completely sober, at around 1 a.m., and that's when Holland confronted her.

Holland claims she smelled alcohol on Lindsay Lohan, who was reportedly out past curfew, and that the train wreck refused to take a breathalyzer.

Lohan claims she asked for the test in an attempt to prove her sobriety but was denied it by Holland, who she says has "had it out" for her.

The details vary depending on who you believe, but it got physical.

Holland alleges Lohan hurt her bad enough for her to go on workers' comp. Lindsay says Holland came at her first, but admits she pushed back.

Lohan was quick to play the victim card in the wake of the incident, which resulted in a call to the police and a battery complaint by the staffer.

The chemical dependency technician was fired by Betty Ford for talking to TMZ about this, and by doing so, may have even broken the law.

Lohan faces a possible police inquiry if officials believe she may have violated her probation in any way during her latest ridiculous incident.

The fired Betty Ford staff member who accused Lindsay Lohan of battery in a recent altercation now says she will drop her criminal complaint.

Not only that, Dawn Holland's attorney says she will not even cooperate with the authorities in any inquiry into the troubled starlet's behavior.

She says Lindsay should absolutely not be prosecuted.

That top has to be a violation of some kind, however.

Holland, who was fired after revealing potentially confidential info to TMZ, had said initially that Lindsay's attack put her on worker's comp.

Holland's lawyer, Keith Davidson, says she won't press charges, "nor will she be assisting any further in the investigation or prosecution."

Asked how his client would respond if she's subpoenaed, Davidson replied, "She won't." Basically, no witness equals no case against LiLo.

Both recovering addicts, Dawn says she and Lindsay share a bond, and regardless of whether she was clean that night, wants to move on.

Davidson says Dawn does not want "in any way shape or form to do anything that would violated Lindsay's probation or cause an arrest."

"A crime has quite simply not been committed by Ms. Lohan."

Well, Lindsay Lohan must be breathing easier as she gets ready for Christmas. The former Betty Ford Center worker, Dawn Holland, who wanted to press charges for criminal battery, has changed her mind and now refuses to cooperate with any criminal investigation, according to her attorney.

Dawn Holland, who told TMZ earlier this week how Lindsay ripped a phone from her hand causing a severe sprain, now says Lindsay should not be prosecuted.

Holland’s lawyer, Keith Davidson, tells TMZ, “Dawn will not continue to press charges against Lindsay, nor will she be assisting any further in the investigation or prosecution.”
And this is interesting … we asked Davidson how his client would respond if she’s subpoenaed, and he said, “She won’t.”

Davidson says Holland and Lindsay share a common bond — they’re both recovering addicts, Holland does not want “in any way shape or form to do anything that would violated Lindsay’s probation or cause an arrest.”

Davidson says, “A crime has quite simply not been committed by Ms. Lohan.”

Hmmm… wonder what led to the about-face? Well, it did sound like a scuffle that got out of hand.

Earlier this morning I told you about how Lindsay Lohan had been moved partly due to a run-in with one of the Betty Ford staffers. Turns out that “run-in” resulted in a call to the police for “hand-to-hand battery,” according to TMZ. And the staffer wants Lindsay charged with criminal battery.
Apparently the confrontation occurred after Lindsay returned to the center 10 minutes after her curfew.

Lindsay claims when she walked into the BFC — a female staff member was “unfairly” scolding her about the situation  … and demanded the actress take a drug/alcohol test. We’re told it was during the heated exchange that the woman “put her hands on Lindsay.”

Lindsay claims she told the woman, “Take your hands off of me” and then “pushed back.” 

As we previously reported, local police received a call at 1:03 AM for “hand-to-hand battery” — and LiLo was named as a suspect. The staffer wants LiLo prosecuted for criminal battery. 

We’re told Lindsay feels the staffer has had it out for her for a while … and with LiLo reaching the end of her stay at the clinic, the actress believes the staffer was looking for a final confrontation.

If things were bad enough that the police were called, then that’s NOT a good sign. Whether the staffer had it in for Lindsay or not, if Lindsay hadn’t gotten physically aggressive, things wouldn’t have escalated. {Sigh}

Now THIS is something to celebrate! Lindsay Lohan - who is currently staying at the Betty Ford rehabilitation facility – has made the 100 day mark of sobriety! Guess that root beer is really working.

The ‘Machete’ actress has been clean for 100 days and her parents are thrilled for their little girl. Michael Lohan told RadarOnline.com:

“I hope she has a decade more.”

Lindsay must continue undergoing rehabilitation until January 3rd as part of her court order from Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elden Fox. That gives her just a few more weeks in treatment.

Oh I hope so! I would definitely watch if she was going to be on it! We know that the execs at ABC have been wooing LiLo to try and get her to sign on for next season, but now it looks like that just might happen!

RadarOnline.com is reporting that Lindsay Lohan is secretly talking to DWTS about joining the show in hopes of rehab-ing her image, not to mention making some money! Doesn’t seem like such a bad idea either, now that she no longer has the Linda Lovelace biopic to rely on!  According to a source;
“Lindsay has been talking with the DWTS people,”

“She is definitely interested and considering being on the show.”
“Dancing with the Stars producers have had Lindsay on their wish list of cast mates for a very long time,”

I really think that this would be a great move for Lindsay Lohan, especially now since it seems that she’s basically out of options. If she did well and proved herself to be dedicated it could be a great first step in getting back a bit of her career.

Lindsay Lohan Can’t Go Home For Christmas

Well it certainly won’t be a white Christmas for Lindsay Lohan! The starlet, who is still in rehab at the Betty Ford Center in Malibu, will not be allowed to travel to New York to spend the holidays with her mom and the rest of her family. A source told RadarOnline that;

“Dina wants Lindsay to go home to Long Island for Christmas, but that won’t be happening. Judge Elden Fox was very clear with his order that he wanted her to stay in rehab until after New Year’s. “Lindsay won’t be allowed to leave the state of California for Christmas – period. It was never a consideration for Thanksgiving and it won’t be for Christmas. Dina wants her home, but her dad Michael is supporting whatever Lindsay’s treatment team is recommending.”

Well I think it makes total sense that Lindsay isn’t allowed to travel, and honestly I think it’s best for her to remain close to her rehab. And while Lindsay’s dad, Michael is fine with spending the holidays in California with his daughter (because he’s never one to pass up a photo opp!) her mom, Dina, isn’t so happy with that idea.

“Dina hasn’t agreed to be anywhere under the same roof with Michael. Lindsay’s counsellors recognise that family is very important to Lindsay and they are really hoping to get the entire family under one roof for some much needed family therapy. Michael has agreed to do it. So far, nothing from Dina indicating she is even considering it.”

I really hope that for Lindsay’s sake her parents can put their differences aside and make peace. It is only one day out of the year, so it would be nice if she could spend it with her entire family. It doesn’t mean that they all have to be together, but if they are it would be nice if it was pleasant! The source also says that her family might be a cause of concern for Lindsay;

“The holidays can be a cause for concern with all of the angst, forced familial time and dealing with recovery. Mix in parents that don’t get along and Lindsay is going to be tested – and that isn’t a bad thing.

“Lindsay recognises how blessed she is to be given this amazing opportunity to get and stay sober.”

Hopefully she doesn’t fall off the wagon again this time. I’m not holding my breath though for Dina and Michael to make the holidays easy though!

According to E! News, things aren’t over between Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson. At the very least, they still seem to be friends: Samantha reportedly has been visiting Lindsay at the Betty Ford Center.

A source close to them both told E! News: “I’ve spotted Samantha there a few times, which is good. Lindsay seems to be in a really good head space.

“Not sure how to explain it, but she seems lighter, like a weight has been taken off. She’s come to terms with how bad things got and no longer wants that for her life.”

Lindsay is said to be making good progress at the facility and the friend added she is looking “amazing” and is working out every day.

If the paparazzi photos we’re seeing of Lindsay are any indication, it sounds like this friend is telling the truth!

However, we may not be getting as many paparazzi pics: TMZ reports that Lindsay has requested her attorney to look into getting a restraining order against the paparazzi. The actress reportedly thinks she’s being denied driving privileges because of all the photographers following her.
