You always wonder if the younger celebrities get what the industry is all about, or if they only care about the limelight. At 17, Taylor Momsen says she understands that at the end of the day, she’s a product that needs to be sold.

“I kind of woke up one morning and was like, ‘Oh I see what’s happening, I get everything.’ “I woke up and was like, ‘I get it, I’m a product.’ “

The Pretty Reckless singer – who started acting on ‘Gossip Girl’ when she was 14 – wasn’t prepared for fame.

“Fame just kind of happens overnight. No one prepares you for it. On ‘Gossip Girl’, I was just going to work, doing what I’ve always done, and then all of a sudden you’re like, ‘Woah!’ “But you get used to it. You ignore it – because whatever people say about me doesn’t bother me at all. If you’re in high school or college or at work, someone’s not going to like you. It’s inevitable. But it doesn’t mean anything.”

Most celebrities say that they aren’t affected by the negativity, but how can you NOT be?

Man – if that photographer ducked down any further, he would have caught a few upskirt pictures of Taylor Momsen. The dress she’s wearing is pretty SHORT and her signature ripped thigh high tights don’t do much for covering the important stuff.

Thankfully, this set of ‘Gossip Girl’ Taylor Momsen is PG. Here she is fronting ‘The Pretty Reckless’ performing live at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire in London last night.

Say what you want about this girl, but she is juggling a pretty successful TV and music career. I can’t imagine having to deal with her schedule. No wonder she doesn’t want a lot of friends. Who has time for them?!

Is it just me, or does Taylor Momsen sound like a very unhappy teenager? Not only does the (former?) ‘Gossip Girl’ star NOT want to be a role model (understandable), but she isn’t interested in having many friends, either.

“I don’t really have many friends. I never have. I was always a loner. I was in and out of school so much – so, I dunno, I’m really shy. Which is weird because you probably wouldn’t think that.

“I’ve got my six best friends, and three of them are on tour with me the whole time so that’s awesome. It’s not sad or anything for me. I like that.”

Well, six close friends isn’t too bad! I suspect she really needs some time to just hang out and be a teen.

Taylor Momsen might not want to be a role model, but she does want to make it big in the music industry. She has continued touring with her band, Pretty Reckless, and this week they hit Paris for a live performance.


I’m curious — do Taylor and her band actually have a following? Or do we only see pictures of her because she’s an actress and has been so controversial from the get-go? Either way, fame is fame. But, I’d really like to know if there are people out there who genuinely like her music, because it’s good, not because Taylor’s on Gossip Girl.

Taylor Momsen doesn’t want to be role model for your daughter, but she does think she should masturbate more often. Oh my! Taylor, who seems to be notorious for saying the most shocking things possible, thinks that girls shouldn’t sleep around, but should explore their own bodies instead. She also doesn’t care what you think, because she doesn’t want to be a role model.

“I smoke, so what? Why do people give a s**t what a 16-year-old girl who they’ve never met does? It’s not like I’m sitting there going, ‘Kids, you should go buy a pack of cigarettes.’

“When I walk outside with a cigarette and someone takes a picture of it and puts it on the internet, it’s not my problem. I’m just living my life and I’m not gonna live my life for other people.


“I don’t read that c**p that describes me as having an attitude, but I don’t know why that’s a bad thing. I didn’t get into this to be a role model for seven-year-olds. I have no interest in doing that.”

“I’m a promoter of masturbation. Don’t sleep around – learn yourself first. “Guys do, but girls don’t. And that’s why girls have so many bad experiences. But you can know your body, know yourself, know what feels good.

“You don’t have to give yourself away to have sexual relevance. Because I don’t think sex is something people should be afraid of. It’s part of human nature, so I don’t think it should be shameful – particularly for girls and young girls.”

I still have a hard time believing that this child has parents! I mean who lets their kid act like this? I guess she’s just young – but do you think she’s irreparable harming her image?

Remember when we told you that Little ‘J’ had been put on indefinite hiatus from Gossip Girl due to Taylor Momsen’s rebellious behavior? Well Taylor Momsen is finally speaking out about the rumor, and calling it ‘BS’. Momsen spoke to Turkish newspaper Hurriyet about the whether or not her days with Gossip Girl are numbered or not;

“It’s complete BS. I’m still on the show. Please don’t buy the crap of the magazines.
“Normally, I don’t even feel the need to address these rumors,”

Wow, even when she’s addressing rumors about her so-called bratty behavior she can still manage to sound bratty. If you watch Gossip Girl you would have noticed an evident lack of Little J so far this season, and if you’re like me, you don’t mind!
Taylor did go on to say that her character on the show is becoming more like her in real life;

“At the end, Jenny’s come to resemble me more, when you compare it with the beginning of the series,”

And maybe that’s why we haven’t seen so much of her this season? What do you think of Little J’s lack of screen time this year?
